How To Draw Modern Florals Workshop

Hi friends!

In case you missed my Insta stories last night, I was at an event hosted by rewardStyle with other Dallas bloggers. The teacher (me) was the student! ;) The talented, Alli Koch, was there to share with us techniques on how to draw modern florals. Does her name sound familiar?! She is the hands and heart behind Dallas' heart mural. :) I highly recommend checking out her book, How To Draw Modern Florals, on Amazon if you love the arts. I have always been a doodler and into coloring but I got so much MORE out of this! Not only did I enjoy the class, but I really enjoyed meeting and catching up with other bloggers. There's something really special about getting a group of girls together who empower and encourage each other daily. I am forever thankful for the rewardStyle community! <3

In regards to the tragedy that happened in Virginia today, I wanted to share my thoughts. It truly breaks my heart to see senseless acts of violence. I am someone who doesn't even like watching violent movies because it is too real to me. If someone has a different view than you, seek to understand their perspective instead of hate and judgement. We need to put politics aside and have genuine respect for one another. Lets recognize that we are responsible for how we talk to each other and communicate. What kind of country are we leaving for our children? We need to speak calmly, watch our tone, and reassure children that they are safe because they are the innocence that is left in our world. As a teacher, I take this role very seriously because a child's experiences impact the way they will conduct themselves in society as an adult. I challenge you to think selflessly and ask yourself, "How will my actions impact others?" instead of "How will my actions impact me?" We are strongest when we are unified and when we work together for the common good. <3

Onto my outfit! My dress is Draper James and sadly it is sold out but I linked a similar one for y'all that is only $20! I love this shade of yellow and could honestly wear it every day. This dress has hydrangeas on it so I thought it was perfect for an event where we would be drawing flowers. :)

Pink Bow Shorts

Hey y'all!

It has been almost a month since my last post but thanks for staying with me! You guys are the best. The end of the school year brings many emotions to a teacher every year. Of course I am thrilled to not set an alarm everyday or make my daily commute but I already miss the 17 innocent faces who welcomed each other with hugs and warm smiles everyday during our morning meetings. No judgement, no hard feelings...just l o v e. The world needs to take a note or two from 6 and 7 year olds. We learned how to become better readers, spellers, writers, mathematicians, scientists, and citizens in the time we had together. And most importantly, we learned new social skills such as how to problem solve or how to respond in a calm way to troubles with our friends on the play ground. The kids, the families, and the families trust and support are deeply engraved in me. I feel extremely lucky to have a job that I love so much. Until August rolls around, I can't wait to soak up the sun and make precious memories with my puppy, Winston & Adam! <3

Who doesn't love pink shorts with a big BOW?! These have been on major repeat for me. They are so feminine and I feel SO me in them! They fit true to size and I love that they are slightly high rise. This leather cross body bag is one of my favorites because it is pink (of course!) and it is big enough to hold my wallet, iPhone, and makeup necessities. It also comes in other colors but this color is on SALE. Woohoo! :)

My Bourbon and Bowties obsession began when I was in high school working for Lilly Pulitzer. I thought the bangles paired nicely with my style and I loved that the jewlery was hand-crafted. Each piece is so unique and different! I'm so excited to partner up with them to share with you this cute stack! If you are unfamiliar with the brand, they are based out of Tampa, Florida and have so many beautiful bangles and necklaces including this lemon bracelet that is so adorable! They even make bracelets for the little ladies! You can find Bourbon and Bowties at boutiques across the United States and your local Nordstrom.

10 Things You Might Not Know About Me...

Hi friends!

Happy Monday! I thought it would be fun to do one of these so that y'all have the chance to get to know the real Sarah Marshall a little bit better. ;) In the comments section below, tell me something I don't know about YOU! I would love to hear!!!

1. I've lived in Ohio, Connecticut, and Texas. I feel so blessed to have experienced life in three different states and cherish all of the relationships I've made along the way.

2. I eat like a 5 year old...most of the time ;) Chicken fingers is my favorite meal and always has been.

3. I love to dance. Whenever I'm at a wedding or a party with music, you can find me on the dance floor doing the Shakira booty shake or pop lock and droppin'. I would love to learn how to dance like they do on Dancing With The Stars (#goals) maybe one day I'll take lessons to learn how to Salsa with Adam. That would probably be one of the funniest things ever!

4. I am half Italian. My mom is full blooded so I grew up eating big meals for dinner every night including pasta, homemade sauce, lasagna, bread, etc. It was a dream! I am still learning how to cook. Maybe one day I will move past the microwavable meals from Snap Kitchen? Do you like to cook?

5. I can do a spot on Kourtney Kardashian impression. Like literally #blessed. I will always love Kimmy and Kourtney even though I don't keep up with them as much as I used to.

6. Singing karaoke is one of my hidden talents. I've actually won money for a karaoke competition at a bar before. The best thing I have going for me is just owning the stage (I always wanted to be an actress or in front of an I have an audience of first graders everyday!), the pipes aren't Mariah but it's fine. ;) One of my go to songs is "Jump Around" by House of Pain or "Man! I feel like a Woman!" by my girl, Shania.

7. I love Disney World. It makes me so happy, especially when everyone is smiling and dancing on Main Street USA. I'm not ashamed to say I've been 9 times LOL. Not a joke. I always thought I was a princess and needed to get back to my castle. Sorry Cinderella.

8. I love to play pranks on people, have fun, and be silly.

9. The beach is my happy place. Especially Nantucket. All the heart eyes.

10. I love rap music and can rap with the best of 'em. Are you surprised?!

And there ya have it! Don't forget to leave a comment below if we have something in common :)

P.S. I couldn't end this post without telling you about where I got my adorable romper from! Have you heard of Cuddy Studios? They are a sweet boutique out of Seattle. Their line is inspired by abstract geometric art of the sixties and seventies and each Cuddy fabric is digitally printed from original, hand cut artwork. I'm wearing the Zoe romper in Coastal Print and the print is just as vibrant in person. The colors are perfect for spring and I love how easy it is to throw on with a cute pair of sandals! You can wear it as a coverup this summer, too. Love versatile pieces! With a tie waist, this romper adjusts to any body and creates an hourglass shape while still maintaining a modest length in the shorts.

Be sure to check out Cuddy Studios online! Enter code: SHOP50 upon checkout to get 50% your purchase! They have some darling pieces that I think you'll really enjoy. I also styled the Hanna in White Lace on my Instagram (@gracemeetsglam) so be sure to follow me so you don't miss any outfit posts. :)

Gingham OTS

Hi friends!

I'm sorry I've been absent for soo long. I've missed writing and sharing with y'all but my puppy and kids at school have had my full attention lately! Only 11 more days until summer...YAY! As much as I'm ready for summer, I will miss this class so much. Our Friday morning dance parties and constant giggles will be some of my favorite memories. <3 It's never easy saying goodbye each year.

OK, so if you haven't already snagged this adorable gingham OTS top, there is STILL time!! I get so many compliments on it and it is definitely one of my favorites. Can we talk about the smocking at the neckline?? If I'm blessed with a daughter, I am going to be one of those moms who always dresses her daughter in smocked dresses with her monogram of course. ;) It's hard to find a pair of jeans that I love, but I have to say these high waisted jeans from Madewell are so flattering and great quality. I love the patch detail! And with being on the shorter side (5'2"), these are a perfect length for me. For my taller friends, definitely buy in Tall/Taller for the perfect length. If you are in between sizes, I recommend sizing down because they will stretch a little. They don't stretch AS much as my other denim which makes me SO happy. I love navy and mustard together so when I saw this bag I had to have it! It's the perfect size and under $100. Winner!

A lot of girls have asked me about my loafers so here's the skinny! They're Hubbell Hille out of New York created by two ladies who maintain full-time jobs with the mission of making a comfortable shoe that fits their preppy style. Amazing right?! I am usually a 6.5 and ordered the 6.5 but could have done the 6 because they're a little big in the back. I recommend going down half a size and you'll be set! The best part is that you can use "Grace15" for 15% off a pair of your very own Hubblers! :)

Thank you for stopping by! It means so much to me and Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful mamas out there :)

Versatile Tunic

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you guys had a great weekend. We had a cold front come through so it has been chilly in Dallas. I consider the 70's to be chilly (ha!) but back in the 80's this week. Yay!

Whenever I'm in J.Crew my eyes always gravitate towards seersucker and stripes so you can see how this little number happily came home with me. This top is MAGIC because it can be worn as a tunic with jeans, a dress, OR a beach coverup. 3 styles in one?! Yes please! It would be adorable to travel in or wear to brunch or running errands in this summer. I would definitely size down as it has a loose fit. I'm wearing an XXS.

I am such a fan of Longchamp bags! They are durable and will last you forever. Since I'm petite, I honestly hate heavy purses so I have to turn down some of my favorite bags because of the weight on my shoulders. This navy bag is light and fits all the essentials. I also have the large red one that I bring to school every day.

Tunic and Pants

Hey y'all! I'm sure you have heard about the mural in Dallas by now. If you haven't been yet, you need to pop over to the Standard Pour in Uptown for a selfie or two. It is perfect and so colorful! It took the designer, @allikaydesign, 5 very full days to paint (THANK YOU ALLI!) and Dallas couldn't be more grateful for the he(art) wall in our city.

I wanted to share this tunic top and pair of pants with you guys because it is probably my favorite look in my closet right now. It reminds me of vintage Lilly pieces and I LOVE vintage Lilly! I am wearing the tunic with the matching pants because there is no such thing as too much print goin' on in my world. This top has bows and side slits, and also looks great with white pants or white shorts. The tunic and pants run TTS. The pants are actually made from viscose rayon, which gives them a nice stretch on the body. So soft and comfortable and great for teaching in! The print, Serene Blue Gypsea, is vibrant and has pops of neon. Picturing this with a deep dark tan in the summer. I die. I also love how this whole outfit is machine washable. Keep stealing my heart, Lilly, one outfit at a time...

Have a great rest of the week friends!

Off The Shoulder Dress

Hey y'all! This post will be a little bit longer than normal just because it is my FIRST post! So, if you are reading right now, thank you. I truly appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to read and engage with me. As a style blogger, I think it's funny to share this story about me so you can get a picture of how my love as a little girl has turned into a passion as an adult. Ever since I can remember, I loved putting on my mom's dresses, lipstick, and walking around posing for pictures. I wore my mom's heels all around the house and ONLY wanted them if they made a "clip clop" sound on the hardwood. If they had rubber soles, I wanted NOTHING to do with them. [The sass was real and still is.] Bless my parents.

This is one of my favorite dresses for spring from Anthropologie because it is feminine and fun...two of my favorite words in the fashion world. I love how you can wear it two different ways: tied around your neck or off your shoulders AND it has pockets!! The ruffle detail across the chest is sweet and I like how the tie-waist will define your frame. You'll see me wearing a lot of gingham especially in the spring and summer. Did you know that gingham doesn't mean check or checked? It actually means striped. Funny, huh?

I think that a bold pink lip goes perfectly with a flirty dress. I paired this dress with my straw wedges because I can always use a little extra height since I'm 5'2". They're so comfortable for a great price! These bangle bracelets may be my favorite because I got them both in Charleston last summer at Moon & Lola. They teamed up with Bourbon and Boweties (love them!) to make their signature bangles just for Charleston so I bought the Palmetto Tree and the ampersand. I absolutely fell in love with Charleston and cannot wait to go back!
